Bibliography

In this section:
Manuscripts ] Periodicals ] Fiction ] Fine Arts ] For Kids! ] Web Links ] Find It ]

Source materials are broken down into four categories, as follows:

bullet

Manuscripts: Nonfiction books, papers, letters, etc.

bullet

Periodicals: Newspaper and magazine articles.

bullet

Fiction: Stories based on or featuring the fire.

bullet

Fine Arts: Poetry, music, drama, and visual arts.

bullet

For Kids: A list of works intended for youth.

bullet

Web Links: A list of other websites about fires and natural disasters in general and the Peshtigo Fire in particular.

I have noted the items that are available for purchase from bookstores or other outlets under Find It.

I have not yet reviewed every source listed, though I have tried to eliminate works that include only passing references to the fire. Many of the works cited here are from my personal collection; others I have seen or have been told about, but do not have in my possession. I am happy to help answer questions; however, I am not a professional historian and I cannot make myself available for extensive lookups or research assistance. For further help, please see Resources.

If you are aware of any materials not listed here, I would appreciate it if you would let me know!
